Middletown Country Club

Middletown is a compact 80 acres of challenging golf, with rolling hills and large specimen trees that have watched many golfers travel its fairways over time. It has retained its old time feel with tees and greens in close proximity, allowing golfers to walk the course if they choose.

Zachary Herr has had an outstanding summer on the golf course, winning several events, challenging in others, and presiding over a successful charity golf tournament benefiting cancer research.

Wednesday he scored his first career hole-in-one and today he is in the finals of the Golf Association of Philadelphia's 60th Junior-Junior Boys' Championship.

Herr 4th in Pa. Junior Championship

Washington Crossing's Zachary Herr skipped the 13-and-under division in the 58th annual Pennsylvania Junior Championship at the Hershey Country Club for a good reason:  he wanted to play against the best.

The 13-year-old, who plays out of Jericho National, played strong golf. Herr carded an opening round of 1-under-par 70 and added a 4-over-par 75 for a two-day total of 145 and 4th place finish in the state junior championship. Erie's Gregor Orlando won the event in a playoff over Huntingdon Valley's Robert Galbreath, Jr. after both carded identical rounds of 139.
