Middletown is a compact 80 acres of challenging golf, with rolling hills and large specimen trees that have watched many golfers travel its fairways over time. It has retained its old time feel with tees and greens in close proximity, allowing golfers to walk the course if they choose.

What do golf greats Arnold Palmer and Jay Sigel have in common?


Both won United States Golf Association Championships, with Palmer winning the U.S. Amateur and U.S. Open. Sigel won back-to-back U.S. Amateur s and three Mid-Amateur crowns. Both men won at the professional level and both hale from Pennsylvania.


Oh, and both captured back-to-back Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association individual state championships.

The brother-sister tandem of Zachary and Erica Herr completed a Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association District One Championship first yesterday.


Each won the District One Championship, and that's just the start of the story.

Herr claims 2nd AJGA event

Winning an American Junior Golf Association event is not supposed to be easy. Outstanding junior golfers from around the United States and abroad battle on excellent courses and a victory is ever so hard to attain.


Unfortunately, nobody told New Hope's Zachary Herr about the difficulty, because he didn't simply win the Killington Junior Golf Championship at Green Mountain National in Killington, VT. No, he did it in runaway style.

Breaking news coming out of North Carolina involving a New Hope girl.


Erica Herr is playing like a seasoned veteran in the United States Golf Association Junior Girls Championship. She opened with a first round 74, then added a 75 to finish tied for 12 after stroke play at 149 and advanced to match play round of 64.


Herr secures AJGA Northeast crown

New Hope's Zachary Herr placed an exclamation point on his summer golf season by winning the American Junior Golf Association's Northeast Open at Richer Park in Danbury, Ct.


Herr, an incoming Council Rock North freshman, claimed his first AJGA crown in dramatic fashion, winning a sudden death playoff over Geoff Vartelas of Cromwell, CT, The two finished 54-holes of regulation play at 212. There were players from 18 states and four countries represented.
