Middletown Country Club

Middletown is a compact 80 acres of challenging golf, with rolling hills and large specimen trees that have watched many golfers travel its fairways over time. It has retained its old time feel with tees and greens in close proximity, allowing golfers to walk the course if they choose.

Crawford hoists Patterson Cup

Written by Bob Oliver on .

Chris Crawford has been knocking on the door of securing a Golf Association of Philadelphia Major Championship for a bit. Now he owns one.

Crawford claimed the 113th GAP Patterson Cup with a two-day score of 70-37--137, nipping 2007 champion Michael McDermott of Merion by a stroke.Five Ponds' Justin Hare and Huntingdon Valley's Jeff Osberg were at 139.

For Crawford, a 3-time U.S. Amateur qualifier and incoming Drexel University Senior, the victory was oh so sweet. He played strong, consistent golf and joins Glenn Smeraglio (1998, 2008), Steve Arnold (2006), Gary Deetscreek (1979) and Bob Kotz (1974) as Bucks County champions. Crawford is a graduate of Holy Ghost Preparatory School.
